Daniel Oates

I am a sculptor and toy designer. I have shown my sculpture in galleries and museums around the world. 303 Gallery on 22nd Street in New York, represented my work for 11 years. I have had a successful line of marionette toys. About quarter of a million sold all together. I am currently looking for a new manufacturer so I can have them in production again.
I was born in Luzern, Switzerland, I grew up in England in the Winchester area (Hampshire). I went to art school in Winchester, then to Newcastle, and did my MFA in Sculpture in Cincinnati OH, graduating in 1989. I lived in Brooklyn in New York under the Williamsburg Bridge between 1989 and 2002. I live now in Sharon, Connecticut with my wife Dana who was formerly the product manager to bands like AC/DC, Metallica, Pantera, Biork, Jet and many others, but she gave it all up a few years ago and is now a Ceramacist (visit "www.dbohome.com"). We own an apartment in Manhattan but we live here in our country home with our Gordon Setter "Reuben" in Sharon Connecticut, where we both have our studios. I try to go flyfishing and upland gamebird hunting with Reuben as much as possible
